JoEllen has wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl. She spent many hours playing school as a child, and her dream of teaching came true after earning her degree in Early Childhood Education from Middle Tennessee State University. During her time teaching Kindergarten in Rutherford County, she married her best friend, Jason, and they have been married for 25 years. After five years of teaching, she left to pursue her dream of being a stay at home mom which led to homeschooling for 15 years. She has successfully graduated all three of her girls. JoEllen returned to the classroom in 2016 to teach at a homeschool tutorial here in Murfreesboro and then later also began teaching at Fusion in 2024. She is passionate about creating a fun creative learning environment that addresses all the ways a child learns. She loves to travel to new places with her family, worship and learn with other believers at her church, and take walks with her dog, Molly.
